A $4 million investment by Incitec Pivot Fertilisers (IPF) is set to deliver major supply chain and storage upgrades at its Port Lincoln Primary Distribution Centre (PDC), marking another milestone in its long-standing support for growers across the Eyre Peninsula.

The investment includes a new storage shed that boosts on-site capacity by 30%, enhancing supply chain efficiency and strengthening the reliability of fertiliser delivery to local customers.

IPF President, Scott Bowman, joined growers, customers, and industry representatives at the site to celebrate the opening of the upgraded facility.

“This expansion reflects our ongoing commitment to regional South Australia and to the growers who rely on us to deliver the right product at the right time,” Mr Bowman said.

“The new storage shed increases capacity and ensures more product can be unloaded directly from ships into the shed.

"It eliminates the need to transfer fertiliser from IPF’s Port Adelaide site by road, removing more heavy vehicles off South Australian roads, lower our environmental footprint, and improve turnaround times for our customers.

The upgrade enables faster, more flexible dispatch of key fertilisers such as MAP, DAP, Granulock Z®, and Green Urea NV®, helping meet seasonal demand with greater efficiency.

This latest development is part of a broader $14.5 million investment at the Port Lincoln site over the past decade, supporting productivity and local economic growth.

“By streamlining logistics and increasing security of supply, the investment strengthens IPF’s ability to meet customer expectations across the region,” Mr Bowman said.

“The Eyre Peninsula is one of Australia’s most important grain-growing regions, and this facility plays a vital role in ensuring we’re well positioned to meet the region’s needs – now and into the future.”

IPF has a long-standing presence in Port Lincoln, with the facility approaching its 100-year milestone in 2026.

The new storage shed is the latest in a series of upgrades that reflect IPF’s ongoing commitment to strengthening regional infrastructure and supporting sustainable, productive agriculture across Australia.
