Your Incitec Pivot Graduate questions answered!
When can I apply for a position in the Incitec Pivot Engineering Graduate Program?
Each year from March to July, Incitec Pivot will advertise for the graduate positions for the next calendar year through our corporate website. University Engineering faculties on Australia's east coast will also be made aware of the upcoming recruitment process so your university career counsellor may also let you know.
Incitec Pivot has various sites and the grad program is on a rotating roster. How does the rotating roster work?
You can expect to rotate on average every 6 – 12 months, sometimes if the operations are transitioning through a busy time you could be extended on that rotation. Your actual roster will be aligned to the operational needs of the site. For example, site rosters could be 8 days on, 6 days off or 4 days on, 3 days off or you may find yourself working within a team where a more traditional Monday to Friday roster is required.
What is unique about the Incitec Pivot grad program compared to other grad programs?
We offer a small, customised, and highly interactive program compared to large cohort programs where you can get lost, be exposed to limited operations, and develop at a much slower pace. Our two-year program connects you with existing graduates, technical experts, operational mentors, and provides full HR support to ensure you feel welcomed, prepared, and can track your development. We encourage and offer opportunities for new experiences and hands-on work with various machinery and equipment in a safe manner. You will enjoy an inclusive workplace culture where 'no question is a silly question,' and your teams are dedicated to supporting a great learning experience.
Do you provide accommodation/ allowances when I am living away from home?
Absolutely, Incitec Pivot are here to make your employment as streamlined as possible to set you up for success now and in the future. We provide site based provisions, including accommodation, transport, PPE and related site suppliers so we can concentrate on being safe, secure and productive every day. Your colleagues have been through the same onboarding/site inductions, reach out and ask as many questions as you like, the local teams are your best source of information for navigating you day to day life at Incitec Pivot.
Can we choose our preferred location/site?
Throughout the recruitment process our HR team will identify your current location and talk with you on your preferences and ability to travel with work and explore other parts of Queensland. We are here to offer multiple pathways to be the best engineer you can be which includes a balance between residential and FIFO locations.
Is Incitec Pivot an equal opportunity employer and will I meet and work with diverse people?
Incitec Pivot is committed to building and retaining a diverse workforce, leveraging innovation, creative thinking, and positive problem-solving. You can expect to work with a range of people from various backgrounds, which we embrace, recognise, and promote as an industry leader in chemical manufacturing and agriculture.
What facilities do you have in terms of professional development/ personal development at Incitec Pivot?
Training and developing our people is at the core of this customised and interactive graduate program. Not only will you be allocated an operational mentor or supervisor, but you will also join our Graduate Buddy Program, connecting you with our existing and past graduates to learn how they developed through our program and are now experienced engineers across our business. As an Incitec Pivot employee, you will leverage our broader competency training, accessible via your online personal training schedule. We will create a formal development plan, ensuring your interests and technical capabilities are considered. There will be opportunities for on-the-job training, mentoring with senior leaders, and project work supporting sites to achieve this development plan.
