Agronomy in Practice
Agronomy in Practice is a specialist training program designed to enhance the technical capability of advisers working within the fertiliser industry.
The course delivers industry-leading education in best-practice soil, plant tissue and water sampling, laboratory testing, interpretation of analysis results, and the development of tailored, evidence-based nutrient programs.
Delivered by Incitec Pivots’ experienced agronomy team, the program combines expert instruction with practical, hands-on activities and assessments. Participants gain advanced skills to better support their clients and achieve recognised credentials within the industry.
Successful completion of Agronomy in Practice provides:
- Eligibility for recognition as a Fertcare Accredited Advisor*
- Full access to Nutrient Advantage software and tools

Key Areas of Learning
Participants will develop capability across core agronomic, analytical and stewardship competencies, including:

- Identifying salinity, acidity, alkalinity and sodicity issues and developing solutions

Commitments Required
To ensure strong learning outcomes, participants will need to complete the following:
- Pre-workshop materials supplied in advance of the program
- An online questionnaire
- Collection and submission of a soil sample to the Nutrient Advantage Laboratory in Werribee (mandatory prior to the workshop)
During the workshop, participants receive:
- All training materials
While no formal qualifications are required, it is recommended that attendees have a working knowledge of their local farming systems and industry dynamics.

FERTIGATION TRAINING
Our specialist Fertigation Training program provides agronomists and industry professionals with the knowledge to optimise fertigation practices for improved crop productivity and long-term sustainability.
Designed for those working with permanent plantings – including tree crops, almonds, macadamias, citrus and other industries utilising fertigation – this course delivers practical, technically grounded training led by experienced Incitec Pivot agronomists.
This program is approved by Fertilizer Australia and contributes 8 hours of professional development towards the renewal of Fertcare Accredited Advisor credentials.

Commitments Required
- Training is delivered across two half-day sessions at a designated venue
- Participants should bring a laptop and/or iPad if they wish to follow along digitally
Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are provided
